second last week ...

nothing much happening the week before as the mood have been pretty much tuned to get home. much have been accomplished as planned for this trip in terms of work and leisure, will spend the last week on catching up with some folks. sorry guys, not much souvenirs this time as i'm really running out of space in my luggage.

bought a riding jacket and went for transformers again last sat. great movie experience. a couple of beer ended the night pretty young and headed to bed before 9pm.

i bought the jacket at the same shop where i bought my alpinestar leather jacket last year. both were last piece last size and were selected discounted items. rev'it soho jacket, 100% waterproof. i can imagine wearing that with the heat in KL. well i can't resist that can i? men don't have a clue why women need more shoes, says who?

spotted a ducati 1098, too bad i only had my phone camera with me.

sunday was a great day, tho i spent most of the earlier part on bed sleeping and watching dr. house from my notebook. supposed to catch another movie sunday afternoon but wasn't feeling too well and headed for japanese restaurant for dinner with a colleague near the beach. i shall not mention much about the damn good food.

nice weather eh? if only you were there to feel the 15 degree chilling and the mind blowing strong wind.

had a terrible headache and rested at colleague's place for a while and watched a bit 7 years in tibet popping aspirins. unfortunately, both brad pitt and the aspirins didn't help much on the headache. it was 9pm and i was pretty tired and sleepy, time to head home. didn't bother to wait for the tram and i walked all the way from the beach to the hotel and that took me around 45 mins to reach.

some pictures taken along the way. creepy ain't it? pay attention to the windows .... as you might noticed, it was 10pm on the clock.

Utrecht with Ton & John

sunday (22jul07) was supposed to be a hiking day suggested by Ton. but with some unforeseen circumstances we ended up site seeing in Utrecht.

Dom Church, the tower on the left, was what drew us here in the first place. Ton parked his car outside the town central. we took a long walk around the nice town. to get up the tower we have to pay 7.50 euros with tour guide, off we went.

one of the huge bells in the upper part of the Church tower.

the narrow staircase to the top of the tower. it was some 400 steps to reach there.

more bells on the top of the tower, the big ones were just as big as the pic above. it was 4pm and the bell rang, man, it was loud, but nice to hear. =)

took some pics on top of the tower.

wohay! UFO landed on the building

more pics...

oh Johnny boy, can't you hold for another 15mins??? =(

had a walked around the Church.

arrrgggghhh!! go away John!!!!

poooof! John gone!

magnificient view.

beer. something folks here can't live without. below was what called white beer or wheat beer, house brewed =). tasted good.

it was dinner time and we walked around to find some nice restaurants around the side of the canal. we felt italian that evening so italian we went.

went to a cafe after the dinner, enjoyed a nice decaf latte and took another pic on the way to the car.

BURP!

Dinner @ Servaas

i was invited to Servaas place on sat night for a family gathering and dinner, what an honor and pleasure.

some simple but delicious dishes. one of my flavorites - Servaas wife's secret recipe chicken - tender roasted strong(kampung) chicken cutlet with special sauce marinated, gulp!

burp~

Monotower - Schiedam

last sat (21jul07) was a company outing - visiting the Monotower platforms at the HSM yard in Schiedam (near Rotterdam). it was some platforms soon to be completed and shipped to offshore. fortunately, as predicted, it was a sunny day. Yuri and i arrived to the office at around 10.20am, the bus was scheduled to pick us up at 10.30am.

took some pics while waiting for the bus.

main building in Rijkwijk, Kessler Park.

see that dragonfly?

they were some 51 passengers and the bus took approx 30 mins to reach our destination. we had 3 hrs to walk around.

one of the platforms still inside the massive ship yard.

2 more platforms outside where ppl queued to take a short tour. we went up to the one on the right, caravel.

saw a massive crane while waiting for our turn to enter the platforms.

safety first!

some of the pics taken on one of the platforms.

the foundations of the platforms, eventually these massive pipes will be dropped under water supporting the platform all the way from the sea bed.

we went out for a short walk around the port and spotted a much bigger platform, not sure which company it belonged nor what kind of functions it had.

Restaurant Tempat senang

thursday nite was indonesian fiesta(19/07/07) with my team members, there goes my late nite shopping :P.

the supposed "go dutch" dinner was arranged by another very nice colleague of mine, B!nky. and G33rt(my new boss) was kind enough to settle the bill at the end. many thanks to both of them.

name of the restaurant - Tempat Senang, literaly means "easy place" in malay, or prolly should have meant rest and relaxing place in indon. located somewhere near javastraat in den haag. non-halal tho.

this is St3vi3 with one of his 12 glasses starters.

mmm .... mum~mum(meaning food, normally used by chinese on infants or kids).

group photo taken before the feast. we've got St3vi3 from the right, J0h&, B!nky, J@n, G33rt and meself. almost half of the size of the team.

and of course, a not-to-be-missed+without-boss beer session =). since weather was good, we ended up to an outdoor pub - room. some 5-10 mins walk from the tempat senang.

below pictures were taken by the above american, whom apparently couldn't handle well with his alcohol and fingers ...

of course St3vi3 and myself will not tell anyone where else we went that evening, please do not bother to ask. we ain't not telling anyone about cremers. nope.
